I would be honored if you would join me at the 2019 Mayor’s Landlord Roundtable—a community discussion to strengthen public-private partnerships dedicated to ending homelessness in our community.
The Unlocking Doors Initiative has organized this event to bring property owners and managers into conversation with public officials, non-profit leaders, tenants who are ending their homelessness, and leadership from the Durham Housing Authority. After listening to ideas and concerns brought up in the first three Roundtables, we are pleased to introduce and discuss new policies & initiatives that the City will implement to continue our mission to end homelessness in Durham. These include a City-funded Housing Access Coordinator, a Landlord Incentive Fund, and the Affordable Housing Bond.
The discussion will be followed by a screening of Miracle on 42nd Street, a story of what happens when affordable housing intersects with creative placemaking. This award winning documentary features Alicia Keys, Larry David, Samuel L Jackson and Angela Lansbury, among others. What do they all have in common? They lived or worked at the same affordable housing complex! Following the film, a Q&A with be held with Academy Award winning Director, Alice Elliott.
We are excited to share these initiatives with you, hear your feedback, and continue impactful conversations about ending homelessness in Durham.
Seating is limited, so we ask that you RSVP by October 23. Please RSVP here.
